Integrating stakeholders and stakeholder platforms for systemic level upscaling

The project will establish a well-defined partnership to engage state level and private stakeholders, farmer organizations and other value chain actors from the early stages and their active involvement in Assam and Odisha to scale up research outputs through collaborative agreements/platforms.

This will be done through: i) establishing direct contact with the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Empowerment (DAFE), in Odisha and Department of Agriculture, in Assam; ii) participating in relevant state level meetings where possible to share results; and iii) link with the ongoing state government programs to upscale results.

  • Project partners will take part in the district and state level agriculture development and adaptation meetings to share and develop a collective understanding and further cross fertilization of experiences.
  • Steps will be taken to integrate Directorate of Agriculture (District level agriculture and extensions officers) into the project implementation phase right from the inception, and this will also provide them experiential learning to take it up in other locations, if found appropriate.
  • An institutional framework will be developed and institutionalized together with stakeholder (Stakeholder Advisory Committee in each state) for bringing about systemic level changes in sustainable intensification and upland agriculture.

Stakeholders will be actively involved in developing policy frameworks, disseminating and upscaling of sustainable climate AE systems, addressing production and marketing constraints, and identifying opportunities to generate innovative product value chain pathways (i.e. Possibilities of changing to intensive sustainable and efficient farming systems).
