Demonstration of Climate Smart Agriculture technologies in the Zonal Level Agriculture Exhibition

The Kishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Ganjam, Odisha, the Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), and the M.S. Swaminathan Research Foundation (MSSRF) jointly displayed an exhibition stall at a zonal-level agriculture exhibition organized by the Department of Agriculture in Ganjam, Odisha. The stall demonstrated various Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA) technologies that were experimented under the Resilience project funded by the Norwegian Embassy. The exhibition stall featured a Plant Clinic, products such as seeds, organic manure, bio pesticides, trellis nets, millet seeds, value-added products, farm machinery, mushrooms, honey bees, and drip irrigation methods.

Ganjam District Collector, Dibyajyoti Parida, Member of Parliament Chandra Sekhar Sahu, Bikram Kumar Panda, Member of Legislative Assembly Berhampur, government officials, teachers, and students visited the stall. Officials from KVK and MSSRF explained the various interventions of the resilience project and demonstrated the Plant Clinic program, solar light trap, yellow stick trap, and pheromone trap. The district collector appreciated the interventions and advised to upscale the intervention in the whole district with the support of the line departments and other stakeholders.

It was a good opportunity to showcase to officials and stakeholders how Climate Smart Agriculture technologies are helping farmers to improve the agricultural productivity, adaptive capacity, and livelihoods of smallholders to climate and economic changes by building resilience.
